Estimator – Leading Tier 1 Contractor

Location: Solihull – Hybrid

Salary: £50,000 – £70,000 (DOE)

Benefits: Car Allowance, Healthcare, Pension 7% matched, 15% bonus, 26 days holiday

The Opportunity

I’m currently working on behalf of a leading Tier 1 main contractor with an outstanding reputation for delivering high-quality construction projects across the UK. Due to continued growth and a strong secured pipeline of work, they are looking to appoint an experienced Estimator to join their established and high-performing pre-construction team, based in their Solihull office.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage your own tenders from enquiry through to submission

*

Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for a range of construction projects

*

Analyse drawings, specifications and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials and labour estimates

*

Liaise with supply chain partners to obtain competitive quotations

*

Identify project risks and value engineering opportunities

*

Present priced tenders internally for adjudication

*

Work collaboratively with the wider pre-construction and operational teams

*

Particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate examples of projects they have priced as the lead estimator.

Key Requirements:

*

Minimum 3 years’ experience with a main contractor in construction (not housebuilding)

*

Experience within a Tier 1 contractor preferred, though strong Tier 2 backgrounds will also be considered

*

Proven ability to independently run and manage tenders

*

Experience using Conquest Estimating Software (preferred)

*

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel

*

Full UK Driving Licence (or equivalent)
