The Opportunity

Opportunities to work on major high-rise buildings while remaining based in Devon don’t come around often.

An established, design-focused civil and structural engineering consultancy with a strong Exeter presence is expanding its structural team to support a growing portfolio of complex, multi-storey and high-rise developments across the UK.
You’ll be part of a nationally active consultancy delivering large-scale urban projects — without needing to relocate to London or a major city.
This is high-rise engineering with a South West lifestyle.

The Role

As Structural Engineer, you’ll contribute to the design and delivery of technically challenging building structures, including high-rise and multi-storey developments, alongside a diverse mix of commercial and residential schemes.
You’ll work closely with architects, developers and multidisciplinary teams from early concept stages through to construction, taking real responsibility for your work.

Your responsibilities will include:

Structural analysis and design of high-rise and complex building structures
Preparing calculations, drawings and detailed technical reports
Working confidently with AutoCAD and Tekla
Collaborating closely with architects and design teams
Supporting project progression from feasibility to on-site delivery
Ensuring compliance with current codes, Eurocodes and industry standards
Contributing to technical reviews and mentoring junior engineers
Coordinating with colleagues across the wider UK business This role blends technical depth with genuine project exposure.

About You

You’ll be an ambitious Structural Engineer looking to work on larger, more complex buildings while remaining Devon-based.

You’ll bring:

Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
Experience within a structural design consultancy environment
Exposure to high-rise or multi-storey building projects
Strong capability in AutoCAD and Tekla
Experience with Revit, Site3D or Flow (desirable but not essential)
Solid understanding of structural design principles and modern analysis methods
Clear communication skills and confidence working within project teams Chartership is welcomed but not essential for the right individual.
