The primary function of the Damp & Mould Manager in West Sussex is to lead the operational delivery of the organisation’s response to HHSRS hazards, including damp and mould issues in line with Awaab’s Law, ensuring timely investigations, effective remediation, and robust compliance. Ensuring the exemplary performance of the Damp and Mould team operatives, achieved via a dedicated in-house team with partnering support from selected contractors, with an aim of remaining compliant within Awaab’s Law and delivering an excellent standard of service to customers.

Duties for the position of Damp & Mould Manager in West Sussex include:

* Ensure all our homes meet the required legislation under Awaab’s Law, and maintain up to date knowledge of legislation and best practice, and share this with your team and the organisation as appropriate.

* Ensure full compliance with Awaab’s Law by leading the response of prompt investigation and resolution of HHSRS cases within the legally mandated timeframes.

* Ensure all work follows the procedures for timely inspections, reporting, and repairs.

* Report to the Operations Manager on the productivity of the team, including attendance, performance, and standards, including proposing solutions where appropriate.

* Work with other Stakeholders to maintain accurate records of all cases and associated jobs, and ensure the data is audit ready.

* Work with Asset Surveyors to complete investigations into complex or recurring HHSRS cases.

* Familiarity with HHSRS, Awaab’s Law and housing health and safety regulations.

* Experience of successfully managing a team within a construction or repairs environment.

* Able to make effective use of data and use this to drive continuous improvement.

* Able to communicate clearly, ensuring collaborative and effective business solutions.

* Effective communicator, able to tailor messages using different mediums to different audiences.

* Effective leadership, management, and motivational skills.

* Able to analyse and interpret data.

* Confidence in use of IT systems to monitor performance and control costs.

* Problem solving and decision-making skills, able to prioritise conflicting demands.

* Ability to influence at all levels ensuring others are engaged and understand the priorities.

* Good understanding of Health and Safety legislation and practice.

* Full UK driving license.

* An acceptable DBS record.

* Level 4 CIH Qualification or a willingness to study as required by legislation.
