STATIC FIRE ALARM SERVICE ENGINEER

We are seeking an experienced and reliable Static Fire Alarm Service Engineer to be based on-site in Kensington and Chelsea. The successful candidate will be responsible for the service, maintenance, fault finding, and minor remedial works on fire detection and alarm systems, with a strong working knowledge of Kentec Taktis control panels.

This is a static role at a high-profile site, requiring a professional approach, excellent technical ability, and strong client-facing skills.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in accordance with BS 5839-1.

*

Service, maintain, and fault-find on addressable and conventional fire alarm systems.

*

Programme, commission, and modify Kentec Taktis fire alarm panels.

*

Diagnose and rectify system faults efficiently and effectively.

*

Conduct weekly/monthly testing as required by site compliance procedures.

*

Complete all relevant documentation and service reports accurately.

*

Liaise directly with the client, site management, and subcontractors.

*

Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and company procedures.

*

Provide technical support and recommendations for system improvements.

*

Carry out small works and system upgrades where required.

Essential Requirements

*

Proven experience as a Fire Alarm Service Engineer (minimum 3–5 years preferred).

*

Strong working knowledge of Kentec Taktis systems (programming and fault diagnostics essential).

*

Experience with addressable fire alarm systems.

*

Good understanding of BS 5839-1 standards.

*

ECS/CSCS card.

*

FIA qualifications (desirable).

*

Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.

*

Strong communication skills and professional appearance.

*

Ability to work independently within a static site environment.

Desirable Experience

*

Experience working in high-end residential, heritage, or commercial properties.

*

Knowledge of other leading fire alarm manufacturers (e.g., Advanced, Morley, Gent).

*

Basic understanding of cause and effect programming.

*

IPAF/PASMA (beneficial but not essential).
