Role & Responsibilities of the SHEQ Advisor:
* Be a visible, proactive presence across live construction sites, building strong working relationships and embedding a culture of accountability and care
* Lead meaningful site audits and inspections that go beyond tick-box compliance, providing practical, solutions-focused feedback
* Investigate incidents and near misses thoroughly, identifying root causes and driving preventative actions that stick
* Partner with site and operational teams to provide hands-on guidance across health, safety, environmental and quality standards
* Influence subcontractors to raise standards, improve RAMS quality and strengthen safe systems of work
* Contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 aligned management systems
* Deliver engaging toolbox talks, inductions and training sessions that genuinely resonate with site teams
* Support Construction Phase Plans and pre-construction documentation to ensure projects start safely and compliantly
* Represent the business professionally with clients, Local Authorities and enforcement bodies
* Play a key role in continuous improvement initiatives as the region grows and evolves
About You as the SHEQ Advisor:
* A confident and credible construction safety professional with at least 3 years’ on-site experience
* NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or equivalent) is ideal.
* Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
* Experience writing RAMS and COSHH assessments
* Comfortable challenging unsafe behaviours and influencing positive change without damaging relationships
* Able to manage your own workload across multiple sites, prioritising effectively and staying organised
* A natural communicator who builds trust quickly with site managers, operatives and subcontractors
* Proactive, solutions-focused and motivated by making a genuine difference
