We are working with a leading infrastructure contractor who has secured a major highway site development in Bristol as part of the Metrowest programme.

They require a Site Agent / Senior Site Agent to take responsibility for the safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of a multi‑site programme of highway development schemes forming part of the Metrowest project. This role includes managing site teams, overseeing construction activities, supporting pre‑construction documentation, and leading the project through to successful completion.

Key Responsibilities

* Ensure all works are delivered in full compliance contract Terms and Conditions

* Contract Health & Safety Plans

* Work Package Plans and Task Briefing Sheets

* Quality and Environmental Plans

* Deliver projects safely, to programme, and within budget

* Support pre‑construction development including drafting:

* Construction Phase Plans (CPP)

* Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMP)

* Consents and permits applications

* Lead day‑to‑day site management once works commence (June 2026)

* Work collaboratively with site teams and commercial colleagues to ensure effective cost control

* Monitor progress, manage risks, and implement corrective actions where needed

* Ensure changes to the contract are identified, communicated, and managed appropriately

* Provide clear and timely progress reports to the Contracts Manager

* Build positive, professional relationships with the Local Authority client and stakeholders

Essential:

* SMSTS

* Degree / HNC / HND in Civil Engineering (or equivalent technical experience)

* Experience as a Sub Agent, Site Agent or Senior Site Agent in a civil engineering contracting environment

* Strong understanding of CDM requirements and pre‑construction documentation

* Experience preparing CPPs, CEMPs, and/or consents applications

* Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

* Previous experience in highways or Local Authority infrastructure schemes

* Experience managing multiple concurrent sites
