Key Accounts Manager
A respected specialist hard flooring contractor is looking to appoint a Sales / Key Accounts Manager to support the next phase of growth from its Altrincham office. With over 30 years in the market, nationwide delivery capability, and a strong reputation across terrazzo, ceramics and industrial resin flooring, this is a business with a well established name and a strong platform for further expansion. The company already operates across the UK and Ireland and is now looking to strengthen client relationships, develop new business and broaden its reach into additional sectors.
This is a strong opportunity for a commercially minded sales professional who wants more than a desk-based role. You will work closely with the Contracts Directors and Commercial Team, helping drive new business while also developing existing client accounts. The position has been created with long term succession planning in mind, so there is genuine scope for the right person to build a career and play a key role in the future direction of the business. When not out on-site visits, you will be office based in Altrincham, with nationwide travel and occasional nights away required.
Sales / Key Accounts Manager Salary & Benefits
Salary: £35,000 to £40,000, depending on experience
Company car
20 days holiday plus Bank Holidays (Increases with service)
Discretionary bonus scheme, reviewed based on individual and company performance
Office based in Altrincham when not attending site visits
Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 17:00
Friday 08:00 to 16:30
Flexibility required due to travel and client commitments
Sales / Key Accounts Manager Job Overview
Drive sales growth by increasing the existing client base
Develop new business opportunities and sales strategies
Perform against agreed targets
Create and manage a client portfolio, delivering high standards of service and communication
Visit sites and provide practical, quality led solutions to clients' flooring requirements
Liaise with the Commercial and Contracting teams to support quotations and project handover up to installation
Produce accurate sales reporting
Assist with and develop marketing strategies
Maintain up to date knowledge of the flooring market and relevant products
Strengthen relationships with existing clients to increase repeat business and account growth
Travel nationwide to meet clients and attend sites, with occasional overnight stays where required
Sales / Key Accounts Manager Requirements
Proven sales experience within the construction industry
Ideally some knowledge of specialist resin flooring, terrazzo or ceramics
Strong commercial awareness and a proactive approach to business development
Excellent presentation and communication skills
Motivated, organised and target driven
Committed to client retention and high standards of customer service
Able to work closely with commercial and operational teams to support successful delivery
Must be based within a reasonable travelling distance of Altrincham
