Hse Manager
About the Role
We are seeking a confident and experienced HSE Manager to join our Cardiff-based team. This is a key appointment for the business, requiring a proactive individual who can take ownership of the Health, Safety & Environmental function, implement robust policies and procedures, and drive a strong safety culture across the organisation.
You will play a pivotal role in reviewing and revamping the operational side of the business, ensuring compliance, consistency, and continuous improvement across all projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop, implement, and maintain company-wide HSE policies and procedures
* Ensure full compliance with CDM Regulations and all relevant UK legislation
* Lead the business through ISO accreditation and maintain ongoing compliance
* Review and improve operational HSE processes across multiple sites
* Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments
* Provide guidance and support to management and site teams
* Deliver toolbox talks and internal training where required
* Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions
* Promote a positive health & safety culture throughout the business
Requirements
* Proven experience in a senior HSE role within the construction industry
* Strong working knowledge of CDM Regulations and UK H&S legislation
* Experience implementing policies and improving operational procedures
* Previous involvement in ISO accreditation processes (e.g., 45001, 14001)
* NEBOSH qualification (Diploma preferred)
* Confident communicator with the ability to influence at all levels
* Self-motivated, organised, and capable of driving change
