This is a key position for someone who can go beyond simply collating subcontractor quotes. You will be responsible for building accurate cost models for a mix of direct labour and subcontracted works, applying our internal labour rates, allocating time and materials, and applying overheads and profit margins.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed cost estimates for multi-trade projects across our work streams.

Build up rates for specific tasks using company labour rates and productivity benchmarks.

Allocate material costs and apply appropriate mark‑ups.

Liaise with QS and management teams to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.

Analyse tender documents and specifications to identify risks and opportunities.

Maintain and update pricing databases for labour, plant, and materials.

The Person

Proven experience in estimating within construction, refurbishment, or social housing sectors.

Strong understanding of direct labour costing and subcontractor management.

Ability to produce detailed breakdowns (labour, materials, OHP) rather than relying solely on subcontractor quotes.

Excellent attention to detail and commercial awareness.

Proficiency in Excel.
