Are you a time-served Mechanical Engineer looking to move into a pivotal office-based role? We are a dynamic Mechanical Services Provider in Birmingham known for our collaborative culture and commitment to employee well-being. We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join our team, manage tender submissions, and help us grow our client relationships.
Core Sectors
* New Build (Domestic): Working with national housebuilders to provide full electrical and mechanical installations for housing developments.
* Rail Sector: Specialist infrastructure work, including depot systems and station upgrades.
* Industrial & Commercial: Electrical and mechanical solutions for offices, warehouses, and large-scale commercial buildings.
* Social Housing: Partnering with local authorities and housing associations for planned maintenance and installations.
* Repair & Maintenance: Ongoing support and reactive maintenance services.
* Homeowner & Landlord: Domestic services ranging from safety inspections to full installations.
Specific Systems & Services
Designs, installs, and maintains various technical systems, including:
* Electrical & Power: Mains distribution, small power, lighting and emergency lighting, lightning protection, and earthing systems.
* Mechanical & Plumbing: Full plumbing services and heating systems.
* Safety & Security: Fire alarm systems, security systems (CCTV/Intruder), and call systems (such as nurse call or emergency assistance).
* Data & Communication: Data cabling and infrastructure, Audio Visual (AV) systems, and Customer Information Systems (CIS) specifically for the rail sector.
* Smart Technology: Automated home systems (Smart Homes) and Vehicle Charging Units (EV chargers).
* Specialist Industrial: Compressed air systems and Rail Depot-specific systems.
The Role
You will play a key part in our pre-construction and delivery phases, ensuring our projects are commercially viable and technically sound.
Key Responsibilities:
* Tendering: Managing the full tender submission process from initial inquiry to final submission.
* Value Engineering: Identifying cost-saving opportunities and efficient solutions for domestic and commercial projects.
* Contract Management: Overseeing contracts, preparing valuations, and ensuring all works comply with current safety regulations.
* Relationship Building: Developing and maintaining strong professional relationships with new and existing clients.
Candidate Requirements
* Background: Time-served Mechanical Engineer with a solid foundation in the trade.
* Sector Knowledge: Experience across both domestic and commercial mechanical sectors.
* Technical Skills: Strong understanding of mechanical specifications, drawings, and contract compliance.
* Attributes: A proactive communicator who thrives in a team-oriented environment and has a keen eye for detail.
