Morva Recruitment are working with a specialist construction contractor seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to oversee health, safety and environmental performance on a major project in Cornwall.

This is a long-term opportunity for a proactive individual who can take ownership of site safety, promote a positive safety culture and ensure full compliance with current legislation. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting both operational teams and senior management to maintain high safety standards across the project.

The Role

Develop, implement and maintain site-specific Health & Safety plans

*

Ensure full compliance with current health and safety legislation and regulatory guidance

*

Carry out regular site inspections, audits and risk assessments

*

Prepare and review RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements)

*

Lead investigations into accidents, incidents and near misses, producing detailed reports and corrective actions

*

Deliver site inductions and toolbox talks to employees and contractors

*

Monitor contractor safety performance and enforce compliance standards

*

Maintain accurate records relating to incidents, training and site safety activity

*

Advise senior management on safety improvements and risk mitigation strategies

*

Support emergency procedures and site drills

*

Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations where applicable

About You

*

NEBOSH General Certificate or NEBOSH Construction Certificate (essential)

*

IOSH membership desirable

*

First Aid certification advantageous

*

Minimum 3–5 years’ experience within construction health and safety management

*

Strong knowledge of construction site hazards and operational environments

*

Experience working with contractors and subcontractors

*

Excellent communication and leadership skills

*

Highly organised with strong attention to detail

*

Confident producing reports and managing documentation

Salary £35,000 – £45,000 depending on experience
