£500 per day (umbrella)
A Local Authority Trading Company (LATCo) is seeking two experienced Quantity Surveyors to join the team on a 6-12 month temporary basis. Please note that this role requires on‑site presence 3-4 days per week.
The position sits within a dynamic Housing Operations team supporting a large construction and refurbishment programme.

The Role

The organisation is looking for Quantity Surveyors who are available at short notice, with strong experience supporting housing, construction, and capital works programmes.

Pre‑Contract Responsibilities

Work with pre‑construction, procurement, and design teams to prepare early cost estimates and full project costings, including major refurbishment and maintenance works.
Monitor design development and update cost plans at key project stages.
Work closely with the pre‑contract team to identify and quantify risks.
Support procurement strategy and assist in preparing contract documents for tender.
Assist with tender documentation and management of the tender process.
Attend internal and external stakeholder meetings (occasional out‑of‑hours may be required).

Construction Stage Responsibilities

Provide input into pre‑start meetings and undertake due diligence and compliance checks.
Review project issues, risks, and opportunities monthly.
Produce accurate monthly financial reports for senior management.
Manage and present large volumes of cost data effectively.
Present financial updates to stakeholders.
Chair internal and external meetings and produce minutes.
Attend stakeholder meetings (occasional out‑of‑hours may be required).

Project Close‑Out

Confirm Practical Completion when achieved.
Settle final accounts.
Manage defects and the defects period.
Ensure all close‑out documentation is obtained, including certificates, O&M manuals, Golden Thread information, and warranties.

Qualifications, Experience & Key Requirements

Relevant professional qualification.
Chartered status (RICS) preferred.
Demonstrable experience as a Quantity Surveyor, Contract Administrator, or Employer's Agent.
Strong knowledge and experience working with JCT contracts
