A well-established and growing multi-disciplinary consultancy is looking to recruit a Senior Architect to join their Nottingham office.
This role will involve working as a Senior Architect leading architectural design services across a diverse range of sectors. You will act as a key advisor to clients, manage multi-disciplinary teams, and ensure projects are delivered to the highest standards from concept through to completion.
You will be involved in all stages of the design and delivery process including feasibility studies, planning submissions, detailed design, tendering and site coordination.
Due to the nature of some projects, applicants will need to hold active UK Security Clearance or have the ability to obtain it.
The Role
The successful candidate will:
• Lead architectural projects ranging from approximately £300k to £10m in value
• Work on projects including secure and sensitive environments such as defence-related schemes
• Design within defined client policies, processes and regulatory frameworks with strong attention to detail
• Interpret complex client briefs and develop strategic design responses aligned to sector requirements
• Act as Lead Consultant coordinating with consultants, contractors and stakeholders
• Prepare site appraisals, feasibility studies and planning applications
• Produce detailed design packages suitable for tender
• Manage tender processes and undertake post-tender analysis
• Undertake value engineering and prepare tender reports and recommendations
• Act as Project Manager or Contract Administrator during project delivery
• Monitor site progress ensuring technical compliance and project performance
• Ensure projects comply with UK Building Regulations and relevant sector standards
• Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers and building control authorities
• Resolve technical queries and ensure drawing accuracy and coordination
• Mentor and support junior architects and technicians
• Encourage collaborative working across multi-disciplinary teams
• Contribute to business development and client engagement activities
• Assist with resource planning, time recording and fee invoicing
• Support projects being delivered by other teams and offices when required
Requirements
• RIBA Part III qualified
• Proven experience working within defence or secure environments desirable
• Strong leadership, project management and communication skills
• Advanced proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
• BIM experience beneficial
• Excellent design, technical and graphic communication skills
• Thorough understanding of UK Building Regulations and specification writing
• Ability to work within quality assurance procedures
• Experience working in a multi-disciplinary environment across sectors such as defence, maritime or infrastructure desirable but not essential
