Job Overview
Senior Architect Job in Clerkenwell, London with a design-led architectural practice delivering large-scale residential developments across the UK. This role suits an ARB registered architect with around 10 years' professional experience leading housing projects for developers or housebuilders. You will work within a collaborative residential team delivering projects across all RIBA Stages from concept to construction. The position involves managing consultants, coordinating technical delivery and maintaining strong client relationships. Projects include medium to large residential schemes for national housebuilders and private developers. The role offers hybrid working, exposure to complex housing developments and clear progression within an established architecture studio.
Role & Responsibilities
Lead residential projects across multiple RIBA Stages
Coordinate consultants, architects and technical design teams
Manage client relationships and attend project review meetings
Oversee planning submissions and authority consultations
Ensure compliance with UK Building Regulations and standards
You will work closely with developers, consultants and contractors to maintain design quality and technical delivery throughout project stages. The role also supports construction phase coordination and mentoring of junior architects within the residential team.
Skills & Experience Required
ARB registered Architect with around 10 years' experience
Strong UK residential project experience across RIBA Stages
Proven delivery of planning, technical and construction stages
Knowledge of UK Building Regulations and housing standards
Experience coordinating consultants, clients and contractors
Experience working with national housebuilders or private developers is highly beneficial. Knowledge of Higher Risk Buildings, Building Safety Regulator processes or complex residential planning environments would be advantageous.
Salary & Benefits
Salary £45,000 – £55,000 depending on experience
Hybrid working with two remote days after probation
23 days annual leave plus bank holidays
