A well-established specialist construction and refurbishment contractor is seeking a capable Quantity Surveyor to join their Medway-based commercial team. With a strong reputation for delivering high-quality refurbishment, fit-out and specialist construction projects across London and the South East, this organisation continues to grow through repeat business and long-standing client relationships.

This is an excellent opportunity for a driven Quantity Surveyor to take commercial responsibility for projects while working within a collaborative and experienced commercial team.

The Quantity Surveyor Role

The successful Quantity Surveyor will manage both pre- and post-contract commercial activities across a range of refurbishment and construction projects. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will oversee cost planning, procurement and financial reporting, ensuring projects are delivered profitably and in line with contractual obligations.

Working closely with project managers, site teams and clients, the Quantity Surveyor will play a key role in managing variations, valuations and final accounts while maintaining strong commercial control throughout the project lifecycle.

Quantity Surveyor – Key Responsibilities:

Managing project costs from tender stage through to final account
* Preparing valuations, cost reports and financial forecasts
* Procuring subcontractors and negotiating subcontract agreements
* Managing variations, change control and commercial risk
* Administering contracts, primarily under JCT forms
* Maintaining strong communication with project teams and clients
* Ensuring accurate commercial reporting and documentationQuantity Surveyor – Candidate Requirements:

Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or related construction discipline
* 4-6 years' Quantity Surveying experience within construction or contracting environments
* Strong knowledge of pre- and post-contract commercial duties
* Experience working with JCT forms of contract
* Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
* Excellent organisational and communication abilities
* MRICS or working towards chartership beneficial but not essentialIn Return:

Salary of £50,000 – £60,000 (depending on experience)
