SENIOR QUANTITY SURVEYOR
HAMPTON, MIDDLESEX
Our client is a leading Tier 1 contractor with a forward order book in excess of £3bn and a reputation for excellence. They are recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team delivering clean and wastewater projects for Thames Water. Thames Water is investing £840m into critical infrastructure upgrades for the AMP 8 period 2025 – 2030 and this is an opportunity to be part of this vital improvement period, whilst working on exciting engineering projects.

The Senior QS will manage the commercial administration, reporting, and performance on either a single large project, or several smaller schemes within the Thames Water region and the role includes the following:
* Working to the highest levels of safety at all time
* Producing subcontract documentation, including negotiation of terms, conditions, prices, and programmes
* Managing subcontract works packages
* Issuing all commercial notices to clients and subcontractors as required by the contract
* Change management in line with the contract, including Compensation Events
* Cost plan management; tracking & forecasting expenditure
* Monthly applications
* Producing detailed monthly reports and CVRs
* Liaising with operational and engineering teams to maintain accurate site records
* Leading weekly progress and risk reduction meetings with clients and subcontractors
* Working with the bid teams, supporting with contractual expertise
Background & skills:
* Strong understanding of standard forms of contract, particularly NEC4
* Commercially astute with strong analytical skills
* Excellent IT skills, including Excel & Word
* Strong communicator & negotiator
* Experience managing large projects or multiple smaller schemes
* Flexible and willing to travel when required
Qualifications:
* HND/BSc in Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management OR by experience
* CSCS card
