A leading UK residential developer is seeking an experienced Construction Director to join its senior leadership team and play a key role in delivering high-quality residential schemes across the country.
Operating at the forefront of the build-to-rent (BTR), co-living, and purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) sectors, the business has established a strong reputation for delivering large-scale developments that create modern living environments for residents throughout the UK.
This is an opportunity for an experienced construction leader to take ownership of a portfolio of projects while helping shape the future direction of a growing residential development business.
The Role
Working across a national project portfolio, the Construction Director will provide leadership and oversight to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
This role will involve occasional travel and working away from home where project requirements demand (expenses covered in line with company policy).
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the delivery of multiple construction projects within your portfolio.
* Ensure programmes, budgets, and quality standards are consistently achieved.
* Provide regular and accurate updates on project progress to senior stakeholders.
* Identify challenges early and implement practical, solution-focused strategies.
* Support and develop Construction Managers, Project Managers, and site teams.
* Foster strong relationships with subcontractors, consultants, and internal teams.
* Contribute to strategic planning and operational improvements across the business.
* Drive a culture of high performance, safety, and continuous improvement.
About You
We are looking for a confident and experienced construction leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys developing high-performing teams.
You will bring a strong operational background combined with commercial awareness and the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of a project.
Essential Experience & Skills
* Demonstrated experience leading construction delivery across multiple projects.
* Strong leadership and team development capability.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Commercial awareness with the ability to manage risk and make informed decisions.
* A proactive and solutions-driven approach to project challenges.
Desirable
* Experience working within purpose-built student accommodation or build-to-rent developments.
Certifications / Qualifications
Candidates should ideally hold:
* SMSTS
* First Aid Certificate
* Scaffolding Awareness Certificate
* CSCS Card
