QUANTITY SURVEYOR

KENT OR SUSSEX

We are working with a successful and well-respected civil engineering contractor, currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in the South East. With a strong project pipeline heading into 2026, and some impressive projects in their current portfolio, they deliver infrastructure, marine, and environmental projects for local authorities, private clients, the Environment Agency, and water companies.

The Quantity Surveyor can be based at either their offices in either Kent or West Sussex, visiting projects as required. This is a great opportunity to join a business that values professional development, responsibility, and a supportive work–life balance.

The role:

* Work to and within the companies Integrated Management System, company policies & procedures

* Fully understand the contract (NEC4 suite) and scope of works

* Risk management and budget control

* Change management

* Subcontractor procurement

* Submit applications for payment

* Produce CVRs & financial reports

* Project forecasting

* Monitoring performance standards & quality

* Building strong relationships with clients & their representatives

* Recognise opportunity & potential for increased value

* Evaluate & submit prices

* Review costs & value to ensure timely & accurate forecasting

* Provide support to more junior members of the team

* Dispute resolution

* Final accounting

Qualifications:

HNC/HND/BSc in Quantity Surveying OR by experience

Background & Knowledge:

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a civil engineering environment

A working knowledge of NEC contracts

ECC, ICE & JCT contract awareness

Understanding of Tendering & Procurement processes

QHSE legislation

IT Microsoft Office skills – Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Full driving licence

Right to Work in the UK with no restrictions

Benefits package:

Salary £50,000 – £60,000
