Health and Safety Manager
A well-established London based main contractor is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join their growing team, overseeing multiple construction projects across Central London.
The business operates as a main contractor delivering a range of residential and commercial construction projects including new build developments, refurbishments, and building improvement works. The company provides a full project lifecycle service from pre-construction and design coordination through to delivery and handover, working closely with developers, consultants and supply chain partners.
Due to continued project growth, they are now looking to appoint a proactive Health & Safety Manager to ensure best practice, regulatory compliance and a strong safety culture across their sites.
This role will suit someone who is passionate about improving safety standards and confident working closely with site teams, subcontractors and senior management.
Responsibilities

Lead the implementation and development of the company’s health and safety management systems across multiple construction projects
*
Ensure full compliance with UK construction health and safety legislation and industry best practice
*
Carry out site inspections, audits and safety reviews across projects in Central London
*
Produce and review risk assessments, method statements and construction phase plans
*
Investigate incidents and near misses, implementing preventative measures
*
Work closely with project managers and site teams to drive a positive safety culture
*
Deliver toolbox talks and health & safety training where required
*
Liaise with clients, consultants and regulatory bodies during audits and inspections
*
Support pre-construction teams with safety planning and risk mitigation
Requirements
*
Proven experience working as a Health & Safety Manager within the construction sector
*
Experience working with main contractors on residential, commercial or mixed-use developments
*
Strong understanding of UK construction regulations and CDM requirements
*
NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent qualification
*
Membership of IOSH (or working towards)
*
Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence site teams
Desirable
*
Experience overseeing multiple London based construction projects
*
Knowledge of ISO management systems such as ISO 45001
*
Previous experience working on refurbishment or new build developments
