Business Development Manager

We are looking for a highly driven and commercially focused Business Development Manager to help grow our pipeline across public sector and commercial markets.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in expanding our work in public sector decarbonisation and large-scale retrofit projects. You will focus on building relationships with decision-makers, identifying opportunities before they reach tender portals, and securing contracts across sectors including education, healthcare, local authorities and housing associations.

The business specialises in engineering services design, project management, and mechanical & electrical contracting, and is entering a strong period of growth with increasing opportunities across the UK.

Develop and execute a business development strategy targeting public sector and commercial contracts
Build and maintain relationships with local authorities, public bodies and framework providers
Identify new opportunities in energy consultancy, building services, M&E contracting and PAS2035 retrofit projects
Manage sales pipeline, client meetings and tender follow-ups
Work closely with internal technical and bid teams to maximise win rates
Report on pipeline activity, KPIs and market opportunitiesEssential Experience

Proven track record in business development within construction, building services or low-energy buildings
Experience winning public sector contracts and knowledge of procurement processes
Strong network with public sector decision-makers or framework providers
Excellent relationship-building, communication and organisational skills
Experience managing sales pipelines, KPIs and CRM systems
Knowledge of sustainable building or retrofit projects is highly desirable
