Contracts Manager – The Company
A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Contracts Manager to join a highly regarded, multi-regional main contractor with an excellent reputation across the South West. The business delivers a diverse range of projects across the Education, Commercial and Social Housing sectors, typically valued up to £20m.
This contractor is known for delivering high quality projects, maintaining strong relationships with clients and consultants, and providing a professional, supportive working environment. With a strong pipeline of secured work across the region, they are now looking to appoint a Contracts Manager to strengthen the operational team from their Bristol office.
Contracts Manager – The Role
As Contracts Manager you will take responsibility for overseeing multiple live construction projects, typically managing between two and four projects at any one time. You will work closely with Project Managers and Site Managers to ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
This is a senior operational role with a strong leadership element, requiring someone capable of managing teams, supporting project delivery and maintaining excellent client relationships.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Overseeing multiple construction projects across the South West region
* Managing and supporting Project Managers and Site Managers across live sites
* Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme and within budget
* Monitoring project performance, programme and cost control
* Working closely with commercial teams to maintain financial performance
* Supporting project teams with technical, operational and logistical challenges
* Maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors
* Ensuring high standards of health & safety, quality and compliance across all projects
* Contributing to project planning, strategy and successful delivery
Contracts Manager – Requirements
* Previous experience as a Contracts Manager, Senior Project Manager or similar senior operational role with a main contractor
* Strong experience delivering construction projects across sectors such as Education, Commercial or Residential / Social Housing
* Proven ability to manage multiple projects and lead delivery teams
* Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills
* Good commercial awareness and ability to work closely with commercial teams
* Full UK driving licence
