A leading construction business is seeking a highly capable Lead Planner to join its growing team in Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Lead Planner or a very strong Senior Planner ready to step up and play a pivotal role on major projects across the North West.
As Lead Planner, you will work across a diverse portfolio of high-value construction schemes, supporting project teams with strategic programme management and ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and successfully. The Lead Planner will play a key role in shaping project delivery from pre-construction through to completion, collaborating closely with operational teams and senior leadership.
This Lead Planner role offers the chance to influence programme strategy, mentor planning professionals, and drive best practice within a forward-thinking contractor that is continuing to expand its regional presence.
Responsibilities
As Lead Planner, you will take ownership of programme development and monitoring across multiple projects.
Key responsibilities include:
Developing and managing detailed construction programmes using industry-standard planning software
Working closely with project managers and site teams to ensure programme accuracy and alignment with project objectives
Leading planning input during pre-construction stages including tender programmes and methodology
Monitoring progress and identifying risks, delays, and opportunities to improve delivery timelines
Providing clear reporting and programme analysis to senior stakeholders
Supporting and mentoring other planners within the team
The successful Lead Planner will be comfortable operating in a fast-paced project environment and confident communicating programme strategy to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
