Location: Torfaen
Salary: up to £55,000 – dependant on experience
ROLE OVERVIEW
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to take ownership of key commercial workstreams across a range of construction and structural steel projects. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys being closely involved in project delivery and making a real impact on commercial performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Managing valuations, variations, and applications for payment
Preparing commercial reports, forecasts, and CVRs
Supporting procurement, tendering, and subcontractor management
Maintaining strong cost control and commercial governance
Building and maintaining effective relationships with clients and project stakeholders
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Previous experience in a Quantity Surveyor role within construction (steel experience beneficial)
Strong commercial awareness and analytical ability
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
A proactive and solutions-focused approach
WHAT TO EXPECT
First Month:
You'll get involved in live projects, reviewing commercial data, visiting sites, and gaining a clear understanding of project delivery from fabrication through to installation.
3 Months:
You'll take ownership of key commercial workstreams, run meetings, and build strong relationships with internal teams and clients.
6 Months:
You'll independently manage the commercial lifecycle of project packages and help identify opportunities for improvement.
12 Months:
You'll be a trusted commercial lead, helping drive strong commercial performance and continuous improvement across projects.
