Freelance Mechanical Site Manager

A leading contractor is seeking an experienced Freelance Mechanical Site Manager to oversee mechanical installation works on a commercial refurbishment project based in Dundee. This role is ideal for a hands-on manager with a strong mechanical background and proven experience delivering mechanical packages on complex commercial schemes.

Key Responsibilities

– Oversee day-to-day mechanical installation activities across a live commercial refurbishment project
– Manage subcontractors and ensure work is delivered in line with design specifications and project requirements
– Coordinate mechanical services installation including HVAC, pipework, plant rooms, and associated building services
– Review drawings, plans, and technical documentation, raising queries when required
– Monitor progress, quality, and safety performance, maintaining accurate site records and reporting
– Liaise with project management, commercial teams, and client representatives to support smooth project delivery
– Ensure strict compliance with Health & Safety standards across all mechanical operations

What You Bring

– Strong mechanical background with experience managing mechanical installations on commercial projects
– Proven ability to lead subcontractors and drive mechanical delivery on fast-paced refurbishment schemes
– Excellent coordination, problem-solving, and communication skills
– Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities on site
– SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid – mandatory
