A boutique, Hertfordshire-based construction consultancy specialising in the healthcare sector is looking to appoint a Senior Cost Manager due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work.

This is a great opportunity to join a close-knit team where you’ll play a key role in delivering complex healthcare projects while working closely with senior leadership and clients. You’ll have the chance to take real ownership of projects and contribute to the continued growth of the business.

As a Senior Cost Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing the financial aspects of healthcare construction projects from inception through to completion. You’ll act as a trusted advisor to clients, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities include:

Providing full pre and post contract cost management services
Preparing cost plans, estimates, and feasibility studies
Managing procurement processes and preparing tender documentation
Contract administration and commercial management during delivery
Valuations, variations, and final account negotiations
Building strong relationships with clients and project teams
Supporting junior team members where required The ideal candidate will be an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Cost Manager with consultancy experience and strong commercial awareness.

You’ll likely have:

Experience working as a Cost Manager or Quantity Surveyor within a consultancy environment
A strong track record delivering construction projects, ideally within healthcare or other complex sectors
Solid knowledge of construction contracts and procurement routes
Excellent client-facing and communication skills
MRICS qualification or working towards chartership On offer is a salary up to £75,000 plus a comprehensive benefits package. The role is based in Hertfordshire with travel required to client sites across Herts, Beds, Bucks and Greater London.
