Job Title: Site Construction Manager – Roof-Mounted Solar (Live Environments)

Location: Wigan
Engagement: CIS or Umbrella

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Site Construction Manager to oversee the delivery of a roof‑mounted solar PV project in a live operational environment. This role requires a hands-on leader with strong site management capability, exceptional health & safety awareness, and proven experience coordinating roof-based solar construction activities. The successful candidate will ensure the project is delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Manage day‑to‑day site operations for roof-mounted solar PV installations.
Ensure strict compliance with health and safety regulations, particularly within live operational settings.
Oversee subcontractors, site teams, and specialist solar installers.
Conduct daily briefings, toolbox talks, and maintain site documentation.
Coordinate with the project manager, client representatives, and stakeholders.
Monitor progress, identify risks, and maintain programme timelines.
Ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to technical specifications.
Manage access, permits, RAMS, and site control measures.
Resolve site issues promptly to keep the project on track.Required Experience & Skills

Demonstrable experience delivering roof‑mounted solar PV construction projects.
Proven leadership experience working within live environments (commercial, industrial, or public buildings).
Strong understanding of solar installation processes and associated construction sequencing.
Excellent communication and coordination skills.
Strong health & safety background.Qualifications

SMSTS
CSCS (Black/Gold)
First Aid at Work
Electrical or construction background beneficial
