Quantity Surveyor – London Docklands
A leading specialist contractor delivering high-tech, mission-critical environments is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join their team on flagship developments in London Docklands. This is an excellent opportunity for a competent QS with solid commercial experience in construction to manage project delivery, contribute to cost control, and gain exposure to complex commercial builds across data centres, advanced manufacturing, life sciences, and aviation sectors.
The Role
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial management of projects from procurement through to final account, working closely with Project Directors, Commercial Managers, and senior colleagues.
Key responsibilities include:
• Supporting the commercial delivery of high-value projects
• Assisting with contract management, procurement, and subcontractor negotiations
• Managing cost planning, cash flow, valuations, and forecasting
• Monitoring variation management and assisting with timely resolution of change
• Contributing to commercial meetings and providing cost/value reports
• Supporting junior team members and contributing to knowledge-sharing
• Ensuring adherence to contractual obligations and company policies
• Assisting with EOT claims and loss/expense submissions as required
• Maintaining commercial governance and risk awareness throughout the project lifecycle
This role is ideal for a Quantity Surveyor with 2–5 years’ experience seeking hands-on exposure to complex projects and a clear path to senior commercial responsibility.

What They Are Looking For
• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or equivalent (RICS/SCSI accredited desirable)
• 2–5 years’ commercial experience in construction projects
• Understanding of contract types (JCT, FIDIC, RIAI, etc.) and UK construction law
• Ability to manage packages with oversight and report to senior colleagues
• Strong commercial judgement, negotiation skills, and professional communication
Salary & Package
• £50,000 – £65,000 depending on experience
• Travel allowance up to £5,000
