Intermediate Quantity Surveyor – Facades Remediation – Brighton
The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing the commercial resources of assigned projects in order to maximise planned gross margin and profitability. The role involves managing subcontractors, procurement, cost control, project valuations and financial reporting while ensuring commercial and contractual risks are effectively managed.
The Quantity Surveyor will support the delivery of projects safely, on time and to the required quality standards while maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
This role reports to a Senior or Managing Quantity Surveyor and supports the wider commercial team in achieving the financial objectives of the business.
Responsibilities
* Commercial Management & Cost Control
Support the commercial management of façade and cladding remediation projects, monitoring project costs against budgets, assisting with monthly CVR and cost-to-complete reporting, and providing regular financial updates to the Senior Quantity Surveyor to ensure margins and profitability targets are maintained.
* Procurement & Subcontractor Management
Assist with the procurement of specialist façade subcontractors and suppliers, preparing tender documentation, analysing quotations, placing orders, and managing subcontractor relationships including valuations, payments, and retention release where appropriate.
* Contract Administration & Variations
Support the administration of project contracts by measuring and valuing completed works, assisting with client applications and subcontractor payments, and identifying, pricing, and negotiating variations in line with contractual requirements.
* Financial Reporting & Project Forecasting
Contribute to the preparation of monthly commercial reports including CVR, cost forecasts, and cash flow updates, ensuring accurate financial tracking of façade packages and highlighting commercial risks or opportunities to the wider commercial team.
* Project Delivery & Stakeholder Collaboration
Work closely with project managers, site teams, and suppliers to support the safe and timely delivery of façade and cladding works, maintaining strong client and subcontractor relationships while ensuring works meet required quality and contractual standards.
Requirements
Must have relevant degree level qualifications
Must have 3+ years’ experience in a similar role ideally including experience on Facades projects
Must be based within a commutable distance of Brighton
