About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Site Engineer to join our clients delivery team working on projects within the Northumbrian Water Framework. This role will support the successful delivery of civil engineering and infrastructure works across water and wastewater treatment sites, pumping stations, pipelines, and associated infrastructure.

The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating site engineering activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You will work closely with project managers, site teams, subcontractors, and the client to ensure projects are delivered in line with programme and specification.

Key Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership and support to site engineering teams on Northumbrian Water framework projects.

Manage and oversee setting out, surveying, and engineering control for construction activities.

Ensure all works comply with project specifications, drawings, and quality standards.

Coordinate with project managers to monitor progress, identify risks, and implement solutions.

Prepare and review technical documentation including method statements, risk assessments, and inspection test plans (ITPs).

Liaise with designers, subcontractors, and client representatives to resolve technical queries.

Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and company procedures.

Support the commercial team with technical input for variations and change management.

Mentor and develop junior engineers and site staff.

Requirements

Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.

Proven experience in a Senior Engineer or Site Engineer role within civil engineering or utilities infrastructure.

Experience working on water or wastewater projects, ideally within the Northumbrian Water framework.

Strong understanding of construction methods, quality assurance processes, and site management.

Proficient with setting out equipment and engineering software.

Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

CSCS card (essential).

SMSTS or SSSTS (desirable).

Working towards or holding professional accreditation (e.g., ICE) is advantageous.
