A contractor delivering major clean water infrastructure works for Thames Water is looking to appoint a Setting Out Engineer to join a long-term pipeline scheme in the Dartford / Abbey Wood area.
The project involves the construction of approximately 4km of potable water pipeline, working across public highways and multiple work fronts, with strict quality, documentation and process requirements.
This role will be site-based, supporting delivery teams across 1-2 active work areas along the pipeline route.
Key Responsibilities
– Setting out for pipeline installation and associated civils works
– Carrying out site surveys using GPS equipment
– Producing and managing as-built drawings (AutoCAD)
– Supporting quality assurance processes and test plans
– Ensuring works comply with strict Thames Water documentation and quality standards
– Completing QA checks and site documentation
– Working closely with supervisors, engineers and delivery teams on site
The position will be 95% site based, so we are looking for someone who is comfortable working outdoors and actively involved in site surveying and engineering activities.
Requirements
– Experience working as a Setting Out Engineer on civils or utilities projects
– Strong experience using GPS surveying equipment
– Ability to produce as-built drawings using AutoCAD
– Experience working with quality documentation and test plans
– Strong technical understanding of civil engineering works
Desirable:
– Experience on clean water infrastructure projects
– NRSWA, EUSR Water Hygiene and Thames Water Passport
