Quantity Surveyor

Our client is a well-established and growing specialist restoration contractor delivering high-quality heritage and restoration projects across London and the South East. Their work focuses heavily on stone, masonry and façade restoration, often involving historically significant buildings and high-end properties.

Due to continued growth, the business is now looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor who will play a key role in strengthening and developing the commercial function.

This opportunity would particularly suit a commercially strong surveyor who is looking for a role with clear progression to Commercial Director as the business continues to expand.

The Role

The successful candidate will work closely with the company directors and project teams, taking responsibility for the commercial management of restoration projects from pre-contract through to final account.

You will also play an important role in helping to develop the commercial structure and processes of the business as it continues to grow.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Full commercial management of restoration and façade projects
• Preparing cost plans, budgets and tender analysis
• Procurement and management of subcontractors and suppliers
• Contract administration and commercial reporting
• Managing valuations, variations and final accounts
• Cost control and forecasting throughout the lifecycle of projects
• Supporting directors with commercial strategy and business growth
• Building strong relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors

Candidate Requirements

The client is seeking an experienced and commercially aware surveyor who enjoys working within a specialist contracting environment.

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor
• Experience within restoration, façade, masonry or specialist construction sectors would be advantageous
• Strong commercial awareness and contract management experience
• Ability to manage multiple projects and maintain strong cost control
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Ambition to progress into a senior leadership role
