Our client, a leading UK quantity surveying and estimating consultancy, is seeking an ambitious Intermediate Estimator to join their growing team in Northampton. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with existing estimating experience who wants to progress within a supportive, professional, and forward‑thinking environment.

The Role

As an Intermediate Estimator, you’ll support a wide range of residential and commercial projects, producing accurate take‑offs, bills of quantities, cost plans, and tenders. You’ll work closely with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors, playing a key role in the tendering process from enquiry through to contract award.

Key Responsibilities Include:

* Setting up estimation files and organising project documentation.

* Completing tenders from architectural, structural, and specialist drawings.

* Maintaining clear, organised project records.

* Building strong relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and specialists.

* Chasing quotations to support tender progress.

* Carrying out accurate take‑offs using industry‑standard tools and software.

* Providing professional insight and discussing project details with clients.

* Making revisions based on client feedback and offering value‑engineering solutions.

* Handling incoming calls and supporting general administrative tasks.

* Collaborating with colleagues and assisting the accounts team when needed.

The Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for someone who brings:

* Previous experience in an estimating role.

* A solid understanding of construction and building processes.

* Strong organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure.

* Excellent communication skills — verbal, written, and interpersonal.

* High attention to detail and a practical, hands‑on approach.

* Confidence working to strict deadlines.

* A proactive mindset and eagerness to learn, grow, and contribute new ideas.
