Document Controller – Hatfield & Silchester

A leading organisation within the construction and regeneration sector is looking to appoint a Document Controller to join their team at their Head Office in Hatfield. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of projects by ensuring all documentation is accurate, compliant, and effectively managed.

This position would suit someone highly organised, detail-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced project environment.

The Role

Document & Data Management

Maintain and manage all project documentation in line with company and client standards
Control document flow, ensuring accuracy, quality, and timely distribution
Keep drawing registers, revision histories, and change logs up to date
Oversee document numbering, naming conventions, and templatesProject Information Control

Upload, review, and manage documents using EDMS platforms such as Viewpoint/4Projects, SharePoint, BIM360, or similar
Track approvals, comments, and document workflows
Liaise with project teams, subcontractors, consultants, and clients
Ensure all documentation is issued, received, and archived correctlyCompliance & Quality Assurance

Support compliance with ISO standards, QA procedures, and project requirements
Prepare O&M manuals, handover packs, and supporting documentation
Assist with audits and process improvements
 General Support

Provide administrative and coordination support to operational teams
Maintain clear communication across teams to ensure smooth processes
Support and guide colleagues on document control systemsAbout You

Skills & Experience

Previous experience as a Document Controller or in a similar role within construction, engineering, or related sectors
Strong understanding of document control processes and workflows
Experience with EDMS systems (e.g. Viewpoint/4P, BIM360, Asite, SharePoint)
Excellent organisation skills with strong attention to detail
Confident communicator, able to work collaboratively
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office
Knowledge of ISO standards and QA processes (desirable)What’s on Offer
