Fibre Up Cabling Field Operative – Underground Cable Installation
Location: London-based (Seven Kings, Enfield), with projects expanding over the next 5 years to areas including Southend and Ipswich
Hours: 48 hours per week (overtime/weekends may be required)
About the Role
We are representing a leading telecoms provider and are seeking Fibre Up Cabling Field Operatives to join their expanding infrastructure projects.
You will carry out the installation of underground cabling and fibre optic networks, following existing infrastructure routes to support broadband and fibre network delivery. The role involves rodding & roping, cable pulling, and fibre blowing, ensuring all work meets safety, regulatory, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities

Rod and rope existing duct networks to prepare for cabling
*
Pull, route, and secure underground cables through ducts and chambers
*
Assist with fibre blowing installation within underground networks
*
Complete risk assessments, permits, and job documentation digitally
*
Ensure all works comply with NRSWA and local authority requirements
Technical Skills & Experience (Preferable)
*
Experience in underground telecoms, utilities, or civils works
*
Knowledge of cable pulling and fibre blowing techniques
*
Ability to read and interpret job packs, drawings, and plans
*
Experience in fibre or coaxial cable installation within duct networks
*
Understanding of FTTP/HFC network build infrastructure
*
Experience working in public highways under permit conditions
*
Familiarity with risk assessments, PPE, and safe systems of work
Accreditations & Certifications
Essential:

Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable:
NRSWA Units 1 & 2 (Signing, Lighting & Guarding)
SA002 (Underground Safety Awareness)
SA005 (Manual Handling)
