About the Company

A leading national contractor who specialise in Power Infrastructure, Rail, Highways and Civils are looking for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join their Energy Division, based from regional offices in Blantyre. This multi million pound business unit work to build and maintain power infrastructure, including cabling in the ground, substations, overhead lines, windfarms and battery storage facilities. This is an ambitious organisation with continued strategic growth plans, an extensive pipeline of secured work, and room for an ambitious Managing Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager to progress their career.

About the Role

This business are looking for a confident and commercially savvy Managing Quantity Surveyor to lead the charge on £12m worth of projects, overseeing a team of two surveyors. If you thrive in fast-paced environments, know your way around NEC contracts, and enjoy working closely with site teams. You’ll:

* Take the lead on all things commercial across various solar, windfarm and private connection sites

* Manage subcontractor packages, valuations, and final accounts

* Prepare claims, reports, and forecasts

* Keep a close eye on project risks and making sure the paperwork’s watertight

* Spot variations, delays, and opportunities to recover costs

* Work with your team of quantity surveyors, engineers, planners, and finance teams to keep things on track

* Ensuring compliance with health, safety, quality, and environmental standards

* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, delivery partners, and the supply chain, ensuring ongoing communication and collaboration to meet their evolving needs, while safeguarding the revenue stream.

* Own the cost reporting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting for you and your team, ensuring that commercial agreements are managed within the agreed cost structures

* ·Prepare regular performance reports for senior management and clients

* Guiding teams on commercial best practice

About You

* Knowledge of the Utilities, Civils, Highways, or Maintenance industries would be beneficial

* Experience managing subcontractor packages & the Client

* Qualification in Quantity Surveying

* Strong grasp of NEC3/4 contracts and commercial strategy

* Sound communication and negotiation skills
