Dry Lining Project Manager

Kanvas Recruitment Group

Dry lining Project Manager | £65,000 to £80,000 + package | West Sussex | Commercial & Educational Fit Out's

We are a growing, family-owned interior fit-out and dry lining business based in Albourne, West Sussex. We work on commercial projects across London and the South East — from office fit-outs and educational buildings through to high-spec Government schemes.

We're a tight-knit team that takes pride in the quality of our work and the relationships we build. As we continue to grow, we're investing in the systems, structure and people that will allow us to scale without losing what makes us good — and this role is a key part of that.

The Role:

We're looking for a highly organised, proactive individual to join us a full time Project Manager. We are growing as a business. The size of the contracts we are now being asked to undertake are in the millions. Because of that, we are looking for an experienced project manager to join our team. The candidate must have an intricate knowledge and experience of Drywall partitioning systems, ceiling systems, including SAS, mineral fibre and MF plasterboard. We also offer glazed partitions and door sets (glazed and timber) as part of our sub-contractor package. A working knowledge of these items is also preferable. You must be able to travel. This is a full time role — we're looking for someone who can visit our office based in our Albourne, as well as travel around London and the South East as needed. Hours are based on what’s needed for the project. Early mornings are a stable in our industry as any well experienced candidate will know.

Responsibilities:

* Site Visits Visiting any project, you are responsible for, 2-3 times a week or as needed to make sure the project is run efficiently.

* Health & Safety Management Working with our team to make sure our projects are compliant from all health and safety aspects including filling out and registering all the relevant paperwork.

* Cost Management Working with the commercial team to make sure the project remains in budget. You will be handed a cost management control system that will guide you on allowances across the project.

* Updating Project Management System We use Monday. You will be required to work with this system (training provided) to keep senior management fully up to speed with the progress of your projects.

* Client Liaison You will be required to work with our excellent core of clients daily to make sure the project needs are being fulfilled.

* Reporting You will be required to send real time reports to management and clients as needed after key meetings to minute important actions required for the project. Including progress, concerns and upcoming expectations.

* Purchase Orders You will need to place subcontract orders (via a purchasing manager) to labour, and material suppliers as required for the project.

* RAMS You will be required to fill out and supply project specific RAMS for any new project. (templated)

* Pre-Construction Support/ Variations You will need to work with the pre-construction team to monitor and record all contract variations. These need to be costed and reported back to the client in real time to make sure there are no hold ups on site.

* Valuation reports You will need to complete monthly valuation reports for invoicing based on site progress. This is all done via/with the finance team.

* Programme and Cash Flow Management Occasionally provide clients with programme advice (as they will produce the programme for us to work to) and to provide senior management with realistic expectations of cash flow requirements based on programme and project duration.

About You:

* Exceptionally organised — you keep your own life running like clockwork and can do the same for your projects.

* A self-starter — you don't need handholding. You see what needs doing and you do it

* Calm under a bit of chaos — a construction business is rarely predictable, and you need to be someone who thrives in that environment

* Detail-oriented — We are built on quality and consistency; the small details are essential.

* A confident communicator — you'll be liaising with Clients, suppliers, subcontractors and internal team members regularly.

* Tech-savvy — comfortable learning new software.

* Must be able to travel – Car travel is essential if your project is outside of London. We cover all travel costs.
