About the Role
This is a rare opportunity to step into a senior leadership position, taking full ownership of the Quality Assurance function within a leading main contractor.
You will be responsible for developing, implementing and managing QA systems and procedures, ensuring quality is consistently delivered to the highest possible standard across all projects.
Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, you will play a key role in influencing business-wide decisions, driving a culture of “right first time” delivery, and positioning yourself as a subject matter expert within the organisation.
This role offers complete autonomy, visibility and long-term impact — ideal for someone looking to move beyond maintaining systems and instead build and shape a QA function properly.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement Quality Assurance (QA) systems, policies and procedures

Ensure compliance with ISO standards, building regulations and industry best practice
*
Carry out site inspections, audits and quality reviews across multiple projects
*
Drive a “right first time” culture, reducing defects and rework
*
Manage QA documentation, reporting and project handover processes
*
Identify and mitigate quality risks across projects
*
Liaise with clients, consultants and subcontractors on quality standards
*
Report into senior leadership and contribute to business-wide strategy and improvements
Requirements
*
Proven experience as a Quality Assurance Manager / QA Manager within a main contracting environment
*
Experience working on high-value construction projects (£20m–£50m+) across residential, commercial or mixed-use sectors
*
Strong understanding of high-spec construction, QA systems and compliance standards
*
Ability to implement, improve and lead QA processes, not just maintain them
*
Confident communicator with the ability to influence at all levels
*
Open to or actively considering relocation
