Kenton Black are recruiting for a permanent Quantity Surveyor position in Aberdeenshire.

Our client, a major Tier 1 main contractor delivering a flagship power and renewables infrastructure programme in the region, is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. This permanent position offers an excellent opportunity to play a key role on a high-profile project within a nationally significant energy framework.

Key Responsibilities:

– Manage commercial activities across a large-scale power/renewables project using NEC forms of contract
– Support cost planning, forecasting, and budget management throughout the construction lifecycle
– Administer subcontract packages, including procurement, valuations, variations, and final accounts
– Work closely with operational teams to ensure accurate cost control and reporting
– Assess and manage commercial risks, providing recommendations to the project leadership team
– Prepare and review contractual documentation in line with NEC requirements
– Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to support effective commercial delivery
– Contribute to project reporting and support monthly CVR processes

What You Bring:

– Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a major main contractor
– Strong working knowledge of NEC contract types (essential)
– Background in large-scale infrastructure, power, utilities, or renewables projects
– Ability to manage commercial responsibilities independently and proactively
– Excellent contractual, numerical, and analytical skills
– Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
– A structured, detail-focused approach with the ability to support fast-paced project environments
