Salary: £70,000 – £80,000 per annum (DOE)

About the Role
TRIbuild are looking for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join a remediation and civil engineering contractor based out of their Wigan office. This is an excellent opportunity to take a lead role in driving health and safety standards across a growing business delivering remediation, infrastructure, and civil engineering projects across the UK.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong health and safety systems while supporting operational teams to ensure best practice across multiple project sites.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the company's health and safety strategy across remediation and civil engineering projects.

Ensure compliance with all relevant UK health, safety, and environmental legislation.

Develop, implement, and review HSEQ policies, procedures, and management systems.

Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments across operational projects.

Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, implementing corrective actions and preventative measures.

Provide guidance and support to project managers, engineers, and site teams on safe working practices.

Deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings, and training where required.

Monitor subcontractor compliance and safety performance.

Promote a positive health and safety culture throughout the organisation.

Requirements

Proven experience in a Health & Safety Manager or senior HSEQ role within civil engineering, remediation, or infrastructure projects.

Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation within the construction sector.

NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) preferred; NEBOSH Construction Certificate minimum.

Experience conducting audits, risk assessments, and implementing safety management systems.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with both site teams and senior management.

Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites.
