Building Lead

BMC Recruitment Group is currently recruiting for a Building Lead to join a client in the nuclear construction sector based in HPC Site.

Duties/Responsibilities
– Provide and demonstrate positive HSE leadership and a strong Nuclear Safety Culture throughout the construction life cycle of the project.
– Support the Area Lead in construction planning, engineering, and works progression of allocated buildings.
– Lead multidisciplinary teams to achieve safe, quality-assured construction completion.
– Manage interfaces and collaborate with NNB as Principal Contractor under CDM legislation.
– Ensure suitable access solutions and work sequences are maintained to meet the MEH construction schedule.
– Oversee the progression of Mechanical, Electrical, and HVAC disciplines, including scaffolding, insulation, and painting activities.
– Ensure all construction activities comply with relevant specifications.
– Maintain and communicate progress, forecasting, and issues to the Building Lead.
– Manage project change and ensure adherence to the project change process.

About You
– Relevant degree in construction or engineering discipline, preferably Mechanical, Electrical, or HVAC, or HNC with extensive experience, or 10 years in a site management role.
– IOSH Managing Safely preferred.
– CCNSG or HSE MaPs Safety Passport.
– Capable of obtaining BPSS or higher security clearance.
– Proven experience in delivering large-scale construction or engineering projects, preferably in heavy industry or nuclear sectors.
– Positive, can-do mentality with a proven track record of success.
– Strong leadership and collaborative nature.
– Excellent communication skills with the ability to think laterally and deliver solutions.
– Experience in managing and coordinating multi-discipline construction installation methodologies.
