Role:
The Project Manager will have overall responsibility for the successful delivery of multiple ground-mounted solar PV projects from inception to completion. This includes managing budgets, schedules, quality, and compliance, supported by site-based delivery teams. The role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and stakeholder management to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Oversee the full lifecycle of ground-mounted solar projects, from design through construction and commissioning.
Act as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, in conjunction with allocated Project Planner.
Ensure compliance with CDM regulations, HSQE standards, and all relevant UK legislation.
Lead and coordinate site-based delivery teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Conduct regular progress meetings and ensure effective communication across all parties.
Manage project budgets, monitor costs, and implement cost-control measures.
Assist Quantity Surveyor with relevant information to support the preparation of financial forecasts and monthly progress reports for senior management.
Implement quality assurance protocols and conduct site inspections.
Identify project risks early and develop mitigation strategies.
Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies.
Provide timely updates and resolve issues to ensure client satisfaction.
Oversee commissioning, testing, and final documentation.
Ensure smooth transition to operations and maintenance teams.
Candidate Requirements:
Minimum 8–10 years in project management, with at least 5 years in renewable energy (solar PV preferred).
Proven track record delivering large-scale ground-mounted solar projects.
Project Management certification (e.g., PRINCE2, APM) desirable.
SMSTS, IOSH or NEBOSH certification advantageous.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Proficiency in MS Project and project management tools.
In-depth knowledge of UK planning, grid connection, and renewable energy regulations
