Tendering Engineer
In this role you will develop and prepare comprehensive technical and economic proposals for both public and private sectors within the UK energy market. You will ensure the technical viability, timely submission, and alignment of bids with client requirements and contractual obligations, working under the guidance of the Tender Manager.
Role Responsibilities
Tender Analysis & Planning
* Study and analyse tender documents (ITTs) to identify the specific scope of work and project requirements.
* Define and organise preparation timelines, adapting to the complexity of the bidding process which may span from weeks to several months.
* Conduct technical site visits to understand local conditions and meet with in-country teams or clients.
Technical & Economic Development
* Prepare detailed economic budgets using Excel, incorporating pricing from manufacturers, construction firms, and local UK delivery teams.
* Develop project construction schedules and associated costings in collaboration with local teams.
* Collaborate with Engineering and Contract Managers to verify calculations, review technical documents, and analyse contractual risks.
* Create cost estimates and projections based on preliminary project designs.
Coordination & Support
* Liaise with internal departments (Quality, Logistics, Health & Safety/PRL, Environment, Engineering, Insurance, etc.) to gather necessary tender information.
* Analyse and compare supplier quotes to ensure they meet tender specifications and select the most suitable options.
* Attend clarification meetings with clients and address pre- or post-submission queries in coordination with the wider team.
* Ensure a smooth handover of information to the delivery team in the event of a successful contract award.

Qualifications & Experience
* Demonstrated track record in contract administration and proposal management
* Strong technical knowledge, including a clear understanding of competitor offerings
* Excellent negotiation skills and ability to manage contract amendments
* Confident communicator
* Able to manage deadlines and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
