Duration: 24 months + We are currently searching for an experienced Groundworks Construction Manager to oversee the construction of one of London's most prestigious projects. This landmark project is part of a multi-phased development, producing a new subterranean complex in the heart of London along with various new build superstructures.
As Groundworks Construction Manager, you will be responsible to the delivery of complex excavation, muck away, drainage, piling and basement construction.
The role:
Managing day-to-day site operations on groundworks packages, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to specification
Supervising site teams, plant and subcontractors, coordinating labour and resources to maintain productivity
Overseeing all groundworks activities, including bulk earthworks, drainage, foundations, roads and external works
Setting and maintaining programme targets, ensuring sequencing of works is efficient and aligned with the main contractor's programme
Ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental standards, implementing RAMS and promoting a strong safety culture on site
Monitoring quality of works, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications and adoptable standards (e.g. roads and drainage)
Liaising with the main contractor, engineers and inspectors, coordinating inspections, approvals and resolving technical issues
Managing site logistics, including deliveries, plant utilisation and material storage
Maintaining accurate site records, including daily diaries, progress reports, permits and QA documentation
Identifying and managing site risks, including ground conditions, access constraints and programme pressures Required:
5+ Years experience delivering groundworks packages for specialist contractors
Strong communication skills
Proven ability to coordinate large teams
Solid understanding of HSEQ, quality and QA processes
