Project Manager
RTL are working with a leading civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to deliver complex groundworks, foundations and FRC (Fibre Reinforced Concrete) packages across high-value Energy from Waste (EfW) facilities in and around Birmingham.
This is a pivotal senior site role where you will take full ownership of project delivery — from pre-construction through to handover — working closely with clients, subcontractors and design teams on some of the region's most technically demanding infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead end-to-end project delivery on EfW groundworks and FRC scopes, ensuring programme, budget and quality targets are met
* Manage site teams, subcontractors and supply chain, coordinating daily operations across multiple work fronts
* Develop and maintain detailed project programmes using MS Project or Asta
* Oversee health, safety and environmental compliance in line with CDM regulations
* Drive commercial awareness — monitor valuations, variations and cost reporting in partnership with the QS team
* Liaise with clients and design consultants, managing expectations and maintaining strong relationships
* Produce regular progress reports, risk registers and RAMS for senior management and client review
* Ensure sustainability and waste management requirements are met throughout the project lifecycle
What We're Looking For
* Proven track record as a Project Manager on groundworks, civils or EfW construction projects
* Demonstrable experience with FRC — design, pour management and quality assurance
* Strong understanding of complex Energy from Waste or process plant environments
* SMSTS, First Aid and CSCS (Black / Gold Card) as a minimum
* Excellent programme management skills with experience of NEC or JCT contract forms
* A confident communicator able to manage multiple stakeholders simultaneously
* HND or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent preferred
