Role: Vehicle Mechanic / Fitter / Technician
Hours: Week 1 – Monday – Friday 7am – 4pm
Week 2 – Monday – Thursday 8am – 3:30pm / Friday 7am – 3pm / Saturday 6am – 12 noon
Salary: £38,000 – £42,000 per annum, 27 days annual leave in addition to 8 public bank holidays / Pension scheme (with 8% employer contribution) / Life Assurance / Private Medical Insurance / Discretionary Performance Bonus / Christmas vouchers / investment on training and more
Location: Near Humberside Airport – Commutable from Grimsby, Barton-upon-Humber, Brigg, Scunthorpe, Doncaster, Immingham, Market Rasen, Gainsborough and surrounding areas
This is a very exciting position to work for a successful and heavy plant manufacturing company offering both challenging and rewarding careers.
Due to a retirement from a long serving member of staff, they are now seeking a Vehicle Mechanic to join their garage, carrying out the repairs on their HGV’s, including Scania and Volvo, Dumpers and Tippers, as well as their fleet of trucks and cars. You must hold a valid UK Driving Licence for this position.
As a Vehicle / Garage Mechanic, you will work closely with the site maintenance and production teams to ensure that the site vehicles are safe, and breakdowns are kept to a minimum by delivering a true mixture of planned and & preventative maintenance.
Your qualification will be NVQ Level 3/4 in HGV Maintenance, Mobile Plant Maintenance or equivalent (e.g., City & Guilds) and have proven experience in a similar role as a Mobile Plant Fitter/ HGV Fitter/Technician with good knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and diesel engines.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of maintaining a wide range of light vehicles, HGVs, plant vehicles, including Dumpsters and Tippers.
* You will be able to undertake mechanical diagnostics and repairs and will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance to the site vehicles.
* Able to perform scheduled maintenance and servicing of Light vehicles, HGVs and mobile plant equipment (e.g. Scania & Volvo tipper, Telehandlers).
* Carry out emergency breakdown repairs across the site.
* Carry out breakdown diagnostics (RCA) and support in the elimination of repeat failures
* Execute the vehicle specific inspections as per CMMS schedule.
* Ensure on-site spares are kept to optimum levels and that stores processes are adhered to in the utilisation and management of spares.
