Senior Estimator – Roofing Refurbishment
Salary: £70,000 – £80,000 + Bonus + Car Allowance
Location: London & South East (hybrid working available)

We’re recruiting for a Senior Estimator to join a well-established main contractor specialising in the refurbishment and re-roofing of occupied buildings. This is a fantastic opportunity offering a clear progression path into a Head of Estimating position, where you will take full responsibility for leading and developing the department.
The Role
As Senior Estimator, you’ll play a key role in securing profitable work while supporting and mentoring junior team members. You’ll be involved in the full lifecycle of the estimating process, from initial enquiry through to tender submission and handover.
Key responsibilities include:

Surveying sites, taking measurements, and assessing technical requirements
*
Preparing detailed cost estimates, tenders, and proposals
*
Managing multiple bids and ensuring timely submissions
*
Liaising with clients to understand requirements and provide solutions
*
Pricing variations and additional works on live projects
*
Supporting and mentoring junior estimators
*
Contributing to improving conversion rates and overall profitability
*
Ensuring compliance with contracts and legal requirements (including JCT)
What We’re Looking For
*
Proven experience in roofing refurbishment estimating (flat, pitched, and/or sheeting systems)
*
Strong commercial awareness and understanding of contracts (including JCT)
*
Experience operating at a senior level, with some exposure to mentoring or managing others
*
Ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
*
Excellent communication and client-facing skills
*
Full UK driving licence
