Solar Installers
An established renewable energy business is looking to recruit experienced Solar Installers or Roofers to support its growing solar installation team across Reading and the surrounding region. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled roofer with experience working on solar panel installations to join a reputable business known for high standards of workmanship. The successful candidate will work on residential and small commercial projects, supporting the safe and efficient installation of solar mounting systems and roof-based solar works. This role would suit someone who is hard-working, reliable and experienced working at height, with the ability to deliver quality work while representing the business professionally on site.
Key Responsibilities:

Carry out roofing works associated with solar PV installations on pitched and other roof types.

Install solar mounting systems and prepare roofs for panel installation.
*
Work closely with electricians and installation teams to ensure smooth project delivery on site.
*
Ensure roofing works are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
*
Identify and report roof defects, access issues or installation challenges before and during works.
*
Maintain a tidy, safe and professional working environment at all times.
*
Follow working at height procedures and all relevant health and safety requirements.
*
Communicate professionally with customers when attending residential properties.
*
Support overtime and weekend work where required to meet project demand.
*
Assist in maintaining strong installation quality and productivity across the team.
Preferred Ideal Experience & Skills Required
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following:

Previous roofing experience, ideally within solar PV installations.
*
Experience working on residential roofs and different roofing types.
*
Comfortable working at height and in a physically demanding site-based role.
*
Hard-working, dependable and able to work well as part of a team.
*
Strong awareness of site safety and safe working practices.
*
Presentable, polite and customer focused.
*
Full UK driving licence.
*
CSCS card, Working at Height training, asbestos awareness or similar site certifications would be advantageous.
*
Solar roofing experience of 12 months or more would be highly desirable.
What's on Offer
This opportunity offers a basic pay rate of £14 to £18 per hour depending on experience, with significant overtime available. Most roofers are working 50 to 60 hours per week, with average annual earnings typically reaching £50,000 to £55,000 and top performers earning around £65,000 per year. This is a great role for someone looking to join a busy and expanding solar installation team where there is real earning potential and longer-term progression.
Salary :- £14.00 – £18.00 per hour depending on experience, with regular overtime available and realistic earnings of £50,000 – £55,000+.
Location :- Reading depot start with projects typically within 90 minutes of the office.
