Role Overview
The Mechanical Project Manager will be responsible for delivering multiple concurrent projects, typically ranging from £100k to £700k in value, within a live client environment. The role involves managing projects from initial concept through design, delivery and final handover, ensuring they are completed safely, on programme, and to maximum commercial performance.
You will work closely with internal teams, subcontractors and client representatives, maintaining high standards while ensuring customer expectations are consistently met or exceeded.
Key Responsibilities
* Survey, plan and define scopes of work across multiple projects, including reviewing work packages to ensure scope is clearly defined and understood
* Produce budget forecasts and quotations, monitor costs, and provide monthly performance reports while ensuring KPIs and SLAs are achieved and accurate records are maintained
* Deliver projects from design through to completion, including forward planning, handover documentation, and completion of as-built drawings and O&M manuals
* Attend client meetings, record discussions, track actions, and build strong relationships with clients, suppliers and site teams
* Develop and manage construction programmes, arrange appropriate personnel, and oversee works including out-of-hours where required
* Coordinate site investigations and develop cost-effective engineering solutions
* Ensure production and implementation of project plans, RAMS, and site waste management plans, including procurement of plant and materials in line with company procedures
* Promote and ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards and legal obligations, including managing HSE documentation, reporting, responsibilities and subcontractor compliance
* Liaise with third parties to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
* Deliver team briefings, training, QA processes and effectively close out technical queries
Requirements
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Main Contractor role
* Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
* Experience working within live environments (preferred)
* Proficiency with project management software (Procore preferred but not essential)
* Full UK Driving Licence
* Valid CSCS Card
* IOSH Managing Safely or SMSTS qualification, or equivalent
* Reside within approximately 50 miles or 1 hour commute of London
