About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team delivering works across the social housing sector in and around Slough. The role will focus on managing costs and commercial performance across a range of projects including responsive repairs, voids, capital works, and refurbishment programmes.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage all commercial aspects of social housing contracts
* Prepare, submit, and agree valuations, variations, and final accounts
* Cost control and financial reporting across multiple workstreams (repairs, voids, capital works)
* Work closely with operational teams to ensure profitability and efficiency
* Procurement and management of subcontractors
* Monitor budgets and forecast project costs
* Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and company procedures
* Support tendering and pricing of new works
Project Scope
* Responsive repairs & maintenance
* Voids (empty homes refurbishment)
* Planned / capital works programmes
* Internal & external refurbishment projects
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within social housing
* Strong knowledge of repairs, voids, and planned works
* Experience managing multiple projects/contracts simultaneously
* Good understanding of JCT/NEC contracts
* Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Relevant qualification (HNC/HND/Degree in Quantity Surveying or similar preferred)
Desirable
* Experience working for a contractor delivering local authority or housing association works
* Full UK driving licence
