About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and driven Civils Project Manager to lead delivery on a large-scale civil engineering project near Taunton.

This is a key role responsible for managing both substructure and superstructure works, ensuring project is delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

* Oversee and manage all aspects of substructure and superstructure works on a major civil engineering project

* Lead site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure efficient project execution

* Develop and maintain project programmes, monitoring progress against milestones

* Ensure full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards

* Manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost control measures

* Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and senior management, providing regular updates

* Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies

* Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with specifications and design requirements

Requirements

* Proven experience as a Project Manager within civil engineering projects

* Strong background in both substructure and superstructure works

* Valid SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification (essential)

* Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills

* Strong commercial awareness and cost management experience

* Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and drive project performance

* Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (preferred)
